Ice Age-The Melt Down

At our cove...the meltdown is slow.

"Bob" hanging at the melting ice edge.
Bob caught 3 fish but he was faster than my camera.

The freeze/meltdown took this sailboat down.  Our hearts really ache for the owner of this boat on H dock.
This and two dock lines were all that held this boat in place.

Ice Age.....End of day.

Ice Age continues.......

So odd to get a picture of the Rum Runner's stern standing on the lake.

Poor little shad frozen about 3 inches deep in ice.

Seriously stuck!
Orleans Trail Marina Cove entirely frozen.
We are still warm & cozy here at the Rum Runner.  We took it for granted that we were the only ones at Orleans Trail last night but a hike this morning revealed a different story.  We followed bunny tracks onto G dock then disappearing out across the ice on the lake.  We spotted more tracks a few slips down and David thinks they were from a Fox.  We spotted many deer tracks and perhaps our favorite sign of nature was a few trees right by G dock that had quite a bit of beaver activity.  Not an animal insight now but quite amusing to think of all the activity happening on shore while we were snoozing away.

We were fortunate enough to visit with Jim & Linda who were down for the day.  As we left 'Wastin Time' we anticipated the freezing weather to hit us hard on the way back to our boat but quite the opposite was true, we both thought it was so still with not a trace of wind that it was actually very nice to be out.
