Best sail day 2013
It took us literally seconds when Jerry and Diane, the owners of Comfort Zone, asked us if we wanted to help crew the boat on what looked like an impossible day to sail. The water was white capping, the wind was 30 knots and gusting at 40. Personally I was a bit scared after all there was not a boat in site let alone a sailboat out that we knew of. Jerry and Diane are experienced and were so much fun. This was the best sail we had in 2013. It had a great sunset, incredible speed and I learned how to sit down and stand up at exactly the same time. David couldn't quit smiling. It was Amazing and we thank them so much for the experience.
White Pelican Party
We woke up to a pelican party! It is amazing how many white pelicans are hanging out in our cove. They are pretty shy and most of our pictures were of sky but we have managed to capture a few to share.
Jamie day!
Its a wonderful day when grandson Jamie and daughter Johanna are in it, but twice as nice when we get to spend it here. Jamie has been so excited and asking to drive the boat until he was actually on the way to Stockton. I have to admit he's really pretty smart, there is something about a winter coat and a boat on the water that SHOULD make a kid stop and wonder. After his mom took him inside, he was relieved and we even heard a "oh, cool" from him. He liked being at the helm until his hands got cold but we had a blanket ready and we motored just in our cove.
Johanna figured out what getting your zen on at the lake is all about. She probably was able to read more in one sitting than she has in some time. We filled up on Pizza from Bongo's. I know for sure they will be back and hopefully Marine dad James will actually get to make it here with them.
Jamie was very sad to leave but we know how that is. We will miss you guys and hopefully see our little sailor soon.
